Dizz Group, one of Malta’s leading companies and the official franchise owner for 13 top international fashion and lifestyle brands locally, are proud to be supporting and sponsoring four Maltese athletes who will be competing in this year’s Marathon des Sables to raise funds for Jake Vella. The latter is an eight-year-old triathlon athlete who is battling a rare condition called ROHHAD (Rapid-onset Obesity with Hypothalamic dysfunction, Hypoventilation and Autonomic Dysregulation).
During the past months, Jake has won the hearts of Maltese people since he is one out of approximately 75 people in the world suffering with this rare condition. ROHHAD is a rare sickness where obesity is hormonal meaning that no matter how hard Jake trains or eats healthy, he cannot stop his body from gaining weight.
The CEO of Dizz Group, Mrs Diane Izzo met Jake and the four athletes, Daniel Agius, Steve Chetcuti, Ben Mifsud and Jack Schiavone, who will compete in the 33rd annual edition of the Marathon de Sables, which will take place from Friday 6th till Monday 16th April in southern Morocco. No doubt this was another opportunity for this company to support and sponsor positive initiatives while promoting a strong message of optimism.
“At Dizz Group we believe that we should endorse these types of ingenuities in our local community. Our support is also a sign of admiration and thankfulness towards the enthusiasm shown by the four Maltese athletes to give a helping hand to Jake hence we are proud to help and support this good cause. We remain committed to keep on offering our support to these type of positive causes, in our continuous efforts to raise public responsiveness,” said Mrs Izzo.
